Nintendo Gamecube

This page is dedicated to the Nintendo Gamecube. Here you will find almost all variations, limited editions and bundles ever produced, almost.

Indigo:

The Nintendo Gamecube is a console released on September 14, 2001, in Japan and November 18, 2001, in North America. It was later released worldwide in 2002. This console was the successor to the Nintendo 64 and was in the same generation as Sony's Playstation 2, Microsoft's Xbox and Sega's Dreamcast.

Platinum:

During the N64 days Nintendo continued to use the cartridge as a storage medium from wich games were played. This proved to be rather expensive and even then Nintendo opted for something different with the 64DD.
With the Gamecube however things changed. This was the first time Nintendo used an optical disc for its primary storage medium. The discs are similar to the miniDVD format. Because these discs were small, the system was not designed to play a standard DVD or CD.

A Gamecube miniDVD vs. Xbox DVD:

Nintendo presents a variety of connectivity options for the Gamecube. It supports online gameplay for a small number of games via the modem adapter.
It also connects to the Gameboy Advance, allowing players to access exclusive in-game features using the handheld as a second screen and controller.

Gamecube connectivity:

Pac Man VS. used this ability:

The Gamecube came in a variety of colors. At first it was fabricated in indigo and later also in jet black, platinum (silver) and pearl white. These weren't the only colors and the Gamecube was bundled with a lot of top games. Every bundle came in a box with corresponding box art or sleeve that fitted the original box perfectly.

These first few consoles aren't retail ones. These models were used by developers:

The Gamecube was called Project Dolphin at first and developers used this:
